Actus Nutrition, a vertically integrated manufacturer of nutritional ingredients, announced a major expansion and infrastructure modernization project at its Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, facility. The investment adds 40 million pounds of annual whey powder production capacity.

The investment includes the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies, including next-generation robotics, automation systems, and process improvements to increase efficiency, product quality, and operational scalability. It includes significant upgrades to drying operations, liquid management capabilities, and carbohydrate processing systems.

“This expansion represents continued investment in our people, our capabilities, and the future of dairy nutrition manufacturing in Wisconsin,” said David Lenzmeier, CEO. “By combining advanced automation technologies with critical infrastructure improvements, we are increasing our capacity to serve customers while strengthening our long-term competitiveness.”

The project is anticipated to create several new full-time positions and provide leadership and career advancement opportunities. More than 100 contractors worked along with Actus Nutrition team members and project partners to complete the expansion.

“This investment is about more than additional capacity, it’s about building a foundation for future growth,” said Lenzmeier. “By modernizing key areas of the facility and investing in advanced automation technologies, we’re creating a more efficient, scalable operation that will help us better serve our customers, support our employees, and strengthen our business for years to come.”

The Fond du Lac facility is one of Actus Nutrition’s flagship manufacturing locations and has been involved in processing innovation since its founding in 1918. Today, it is one of America’s largest whey protein isolate manufacturing sites and produces whey concentrates, isolates, hydrolysates, sweet whey powder, and specialty ingredients like lactoferrin.
